Tyro Group expands into the German pest control market through acquisitions of Desinsekta and SchädEX
Tyro is pleased to welcome Desinsekta GmbH and SchädEX GmbH as its first two acquisitions in Germany. Both companies offer a wide range of services within pest control. The entry into the German pest control market represents an important milestone for Tyro in its European growth strategy. The group now has presence in Germany, Norway, Sweden, Finland, the UK and Ireland and employs around 1,000 people.
The Frankfurt-based company Desinsekta is the first German company to join Tyro. It is one of the leading German providers of pest control services, including fumigation as well as wood, stock and quarantine protection. The company employs 15 people and has over 40 years of pest control experience. The previous managing director and owner Andreas Bäumert will continue to lead the company and work with Tyro’s group management team to drive growth in the German market: ‘We are delighted to now be part of Tyro and to be able to offer even higher quality services together with our new partners. We see the partnership with Tyro not only as an opportunity for us to substantially develop the company, but also for our customers, as they will benefit from the experience of numerous entrepreneurs and experts.’
With the acquisition of SchädEX GmbH in North Rhine-Westphalia, Tyro is expanding its presence and range of services in the German market. The company employs around 30 people and is recognized as a competent partner, particularly for customers in the food and pet food industry. Uwe Laubach, who built up the company as managing director and owner, is glad about the partnership with Tyro: ‘We are delighted to join Tyro’s journey in Germany. SchädEX already offers excellent services and, together with Tyro, we will continue to grow and intensify our customer focus.’
Tyro was formed in 2022 through the merger of the pest control companies PELIAS (Norway) and Vergo (UK). Since then, the group has conducted more than 20 acquisitions and has expanded to Sweden, Finland, Ireland, and now Germany. Tyro’s ambition is to become a leading pest control group in Europe, growing both organically and through joining forces with stellar entrepreneurs. Svein Olav Stølen (CEO Tyro): ‘With Desinsekta and SchädEX, we have joined forces with two companies that fit perfectly with Tyro’s focus on providing high-quality services, diligent customer focus, and a great workplace for all employees. We now look forward to developing our presence in Germany further.’
Tyro continues to search for entrepreneurs in the pest control sector who share this focus and have established a strong business model. Through joining Tyro, entrepreneurs get the opportunity to learn from other companies in the group, get access to resources to support growth, and a partner that helps drive further business development. Entrepreneurs are also given the unique option of becoming co-owners of Tyro.
